Ongoing improvement is a must in today's business, and not just in technical areas. Professional qualifications are indispensable. People, with their social skills and their attitude - often conditioned by emotions - towards themselves and others are becoming increasingly more critical in the success of organisations.
Improvements may be demanded when there is an impression that people have been doing things the same way for too long or that things are in a rut. Improvements are expected where the company believes in the employee's potential. Improvement processes must be accelerated and beginner's mistakes avoided. The market is changing, and companies and their employees must adapt or, even better, act proactively. The pressure on existing and up-and-coming managers is enormous. Development-oriented Coaching may deal with objectives imposed upon us externally (by the job market, business strategy, our business partner, etc.) or it may be about our own desire to take a step forward. Often times we know the (approximate) direction but do not know how to get there. Sometimes we simply go round in circles. In this case, Coaching helps, methodically and systematically, through comprehensive analyses, to establish objectives and promote their implementation, in personal or professional situations, such as choosing a profession and/or planning a career.
Coaching in business development is for people with leadership responsibilities and management tasks, for young and talented people, the so-called "high potentials", who need to become familiar with leadership functions, promoted personnel who are beginning to take on responsibility for staff in their new job, as well as the self-employed and freelance professionals. Often the objective is to change behaviours that limit us.
